Up for sale is an absolute time-capsule example of a 1990/1991 Fender Deluxe Strat Plus in the highly desirable and rare Pewter Grey finish with a gorgeous maple neck and original pearloid pickguard.
This is a stunning, unmodified “Version 1” Deluxe model, as verified by the exceptionally rare original factory hang-tag included in the case, which explicitly notes the model designation: “DELUXE STRAT PLUS MPL”.
The Details & Hardware:
Pickups: Original factory-installed Fender Lace Sensor array in Blue (neck) / Silver (middle) / Silver (bridge) configuration. Incredible vintage, hum-free chime.
Nut & Tuners: Original early-style Wilkinson roller nut and brushed chrome locking tuners for rock-solid tuning stability.
Bridge: Original two-point American synchronized tremolo bridge.
Controls: Factory-original TBX tone control circuit perfectly intact.
Condition: Excellent / Collector-grade. The gloss finish on the solid alder body is incredibly clean with no major dings, edge chips, or bucklerash. The glossy maple fretboard shows practically zero wear, and the medium jumbo frets have almost 100% life left in them.
Cosmetic Disclosure: The only notable cosmetic sign of use is a single, incredibly faint hairline surface scratch on the lower edge of the body (as pictured in the last photo). It is only visible if you catch it directly in the right light, and it has not broken through the clear coat or paint.
Modifications: 100% original except for the addition of high-quality Straplock strap studs (the only change from factory spec).
